CM Yogi expresses condolences on Darjeeling accident

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed condolences over the train accident in Darjeeling district of West Bengal. CM Yogi posted on Instagram and wrote that the loss of life in the train accident in Darjeeling, West Bengal is extremely sad and heartbreaking. My condolences are with the bereaved families.

15 people died, 40 injured in the accident

He further wrote that I pray to Lord Shri Ram to give place to the departed souls in his lotus feet and speedy recovery to the injured. Actually, a freight train has hit the Kanchenjunga Express train in Darjeeling district of West Bengal. In this accident, 15 people including the driver, assistant driver and guard have died and about 40 people are reported to be injured.

Relief and rescue work is going on. The accident took place between Rangapani and Nijbari stations, a little ahead of New Jalpaiguri station. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an ex-gratia of two lakh rupees from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to the families of those who lost their lives in this accident. The injured will be given an assistance of 50 thousand rupees.
